Donnelly snatches lead in Cork 20 international rally
Entering the final stage of the Murphy Construction Cork “20” International Rally, Eugene Donnelly/Paul Kiely (Toyota Corolla WRC) are nine seconds ahead of the Subaru WRC of Derek McGarrity/Dermot O’Gorman.
Long-time leaders, Tim McNulty/Eugene O’Donnell (Subaru) lost the lead and over four minutes when he was off the road on S.S. 13, Moll Carthy’s Bridge. He is now third.
Liam McCarthy (Subaru WRC) is fourth from fellow West Cork driver, Denis Cronin (Toyota Celica). Tony Davies (Subaru WRC|) is sixth.
Eamonn Boland’s Subaru has blown a head gasket, but that will be rectified at the final service halt at Cork Racecourse, Mallow.
In Group N, Willie Fannin (Subaru) is four seconds ahead of the Mitsubishi of James O’Sullivan.
