Half of Olympic Games' tickets unsold

The Olympic Games organising committee ATHOC claim ticket sales are rocketing with more than 80,000 sold last week, compared with an average 4,000 a day in June.

The Olympic Games organising committee ATHOC claim ticket sales are rocketing with more than 80,000 sold last week, compared with an average 4,000 a day in June.

However more than 50% of tickets remain unsold with nine days remaining before the Games start.

ATHOC must hope that the last-minute venue preparations, which attracted a great deal of criticism, are matched by a last-minute surge in ticket sales.
