America’s track golden girls are looking forward to a glittering Olympics after they showed their younger rivals at the US team trials they still have what it takes to be in the medal hunt.

The finals on the fourth day of competition in Sacramento, California, saw 37-year-old Jearl Miles-Clark qualify for her fourth competitive Olympic Games with victory in the 800 metres while 35-year-old Marla Runyan booked her seat on the plane to Athens with second place in the 5000m final.
