Nesbitt heading for victory in Jim Clark rally
With three stages remaining, Andrew Nesbitt/James O’Brien (Subaru Impreza WRC) are heading for a hat trick of wins on the Jim Clark Rally in Scotland, a counting round of both the Irish and British Pirelli Rally championships.
A puncture on SS 19, Blackadder, has effectively ended the challenge of Eugene Donnelly/Paul Kiely, who are now over a minute adrift with the Subaru of Derek McGarrity/Dermot O’Gorman in third place.
Nesbitt has also posted the fastest time through S.S. 21 and has pushed his lead out to a minute 35.4 seconds.
McGarrity is 1 minute and 3.4 seconds behind Donnelly after S.S. 21.
Following the Irish trio is David Higgins (Hyundai), however, he is coming under increasing pressure from the Subaru WRC of Jonny Milner.
Austin MacHale, on course to collect points in both championships is sixth.
