McLaren opens new HQ
McLaren today officially opened their multi-million pound headquarters in Woking in England today.
McLaren’s new home, named Paragon, cost more than £200m (€298m) and took five years to build, with team boss Ron Dennis hailing it as a major step forward.
Several former McLaren drivers were present – as well as current stars David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen – while some of the team’s most famous cars were on show as the Queen of England today opened the facility.
Dennis said: “It was built to put McLaren and England, I hope, firmly at the forefront of automotive technology. Our objective is to be the best, not just in grand prix racing.”
The new headquarters will not only be a base for McLaren’s Formula One outfit, it also doubles as a factory for a new Mercedes road car the team has helped to produce alongside their engine suppliers.
