Thorpe to defend Olympic title after all

Ian Thorpe has confirmed he will defend his 400m freestyle Olympic title in Athens after accepting the place left vacant by team-mate Craig Stevens.

Thorpe, the 21-year-old world record holder, initially missed out on selection for his favoured event when he was disqualified at the Australian Olympic trials for a false start.
