Perry sets up clash with world champion
Joe Perry booked a second round meeting with holder Mark Williams after holding off a late rally by Robert Milkins at the Embassy World Championship in Sheffield today.
Perry completed a 10-7 victory after qualifier Milkins recovered from 9-4 down with a three-frame unanswered burst.
Perry began the day with a 6-3 lead and seemed in control as he captured four of the opening five frames.
Breaks of 51, 65 and 36 gave Milkins hope of a famous comeback. However, Perry played a solid 17th frame and his run of 53 sent him through for a best of 25 frames meeting with Welshman Williams.
