Harrison's ambition still burns bright

Audley Harrison aims to take the biggest stride yet along his tortuous road to the top at Wembley Conference Centre tonight.

The Olympic super-heavyweight champion believes he will be given the toughest test of his professional career by Dutchman Richel Hersisia for the lightly-regarded WBF title.

And he hopes victory will help him realise more of the ambitiously-vaunted plans which have earned him some criticism through the first three years of his campaign in the paid ranks.

Harrison said: “I think this will be the toughest fight of my career and I know for a fact it will be an exciting one.

“I know a lot of people in England have been pouring scorn on me but by the end of 2005 I plan to be right there – my five-year plan is well on track.

“Next year I will be up there with the big names and aiming to be the legitimate number one.”
