Jordan to promote world issues
The Kingdom of Bahrain will promote a series of international humanitarian, charitable and cultural messages on the bodywork of the Jordan cars during the 2004 Formula One season.
The engine covers of the Jordan EJ14s at the season-opening Grand Prix in Melbourne this weekend will be adorned with a dove, representing peace.
Team principal Eddie Jordan said 18 different emblems would used at this year’s grands prix with the bodywork to be auctioned off for a charitable cause at the end of the season.
The space on the cars was secured by the Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
“We feel that Formula One is a valuable platform on which to promote positive humanitarian and cultural values on a global scale,” he said.
“This is a unique way in which to remind people of issues that are important to us all.”
