Jimmy White continued the push to reach his first semi-final at a world ranking event for nearly three years after edging ahead of Nigel Bond at the £615,000 (€822,000) Travis Perkins UK Championship in York.

The Whirlwind led 5-3 after the first session of play at the Barbican Centre.
