Schumacher injured playing football

Michael Schumacher has been forced to abandon a training session with Manchester United on Wednesday after picking up an injury – playing football!

The six-time Formula One World Champion has been ordered to rest by doctors for a couple of weeks after sustaining a knee injury.

Football-mad Schumacher, who plays for a local team at home in Switzerland, was due to train with the United squad at their Carrington headquarters before visiting Old Trafford to take part in a penalty competition.

Schumacher’s Ferrari team and Manchester United are both sponsored by mobile telephone giants Vodafone.
