Chambers' B sample tests positive for THG
European 100 metres champion Dwain Chambers' B sample has tested positive for tetrahydrogestrinone (THG).
Chambers failed an out-of-competition test for THG at a training camp in Saarbrucken, Germany, on August 1.
In early October Chambers, the former British team captain, was informed traces of the new designer drug THG had been found in his A urine sample.
Chambers’ B sample was tested in Los Angeles on Monday.
The second test, carried out at the IOC accredited University of California, which has the means of detecting THG, again proved positive and Chambers faces a suspension of at least two years.
Chambers admits having taken THG, but claims he was unaware of the contents of the supplements he was taking.
A lengthy suspension from the disciplinary panel would deny Chambers the chance to compete in the Athens Olympics next year and, under British Olympic Association rules, he would also be banned from all subsequent Games.
