The ESB National Cup draw took place in the ESB Arena today, with some daunting ties lined up for the weekend of December 5-7.

First drawn out of the Cup were Tralee Tigers, who will host Neptune in one of the tougher games in the first round.

Title-holders UCC Demons will host Division One side Queens, while last year’s runners-up, Star of the Sea, have a tough home game against St Vincent’s.

A difficult Dublin derby game is on the cards for Hibernian UCD Marian and Killester, who were drawn against each other, while Gleneagle Lakers and Notre Dame will get a trial run when they take on each other this weekend.

In the ESB Women’s National Cup draw, Glanmire host Tolka Rovers in the only all-Superleague game of the first round.

Team Cuba, Galway received a bye and will go straight through to the quarter-finals.

Firhouse Notre Dame will host title-holders UL, while both Killester and Meteors are on the road to Sligo All Stars and Mercy Coolock respectively.
