Boland is pacesetter in Cork again

Overnight leader Eamonn Boland and co-driver, Damien Morrissey are again setting the pace in the second and final day of the Murphy Construction Cork “20” Rally - the final round of the Toshiba

Computers Irish Tarmac Championship.

Although Boland was a mere second behind next-placed driver, Derek McGarrity, on stage nine, he posted the quickest time through stage 10 near Ballynoe and duly stretched his lead over McGarrity to 33 seconds.

McGarrity lost time when he overshot a junction.

Austin MacHale is only six seconds adrift of McGarrity.

Fourth placed Tim McNulty was off the road on several occasions on the 10th stage. Nevertheless, he still retains his place.

Donie O’Sullivan reported he was taking a steady approach and driving for a top five finish.

Melvyn Evans spun twice on S.S. 10 as did JJ Fleming, both in Subaru WRC’s.

Liam McCarthy, in seventh spot, is still having problems with the response unit.

In Group N, Seamus Leonard (Subaru) leads the Mitsubishi of Roy White, however, even if the

positions remain as they are,

White will clinch the showroom category in the Toshiba Tarmac Championship.

The top rear wheel driver is Denis Cronin. His BMW M3 is 10th.
