McRae tips Burns for title

Colin McRae believes old rival Richard Burns can regain his World Rally Championship crown next season and become the first Briton to win it twice.

The Scot thinks Burns can see off Peugeot team-mate and current champion Marcus Gronholm, but that it will be close.

ā€œRichard must have confidence in the car now and was certainly very quick in a lot of places last year,ā€ said McRae of Burns, who had his maiden season with Peugeot last year after winning the title for Subaru in 2001.

ā€œHe just didn’t string it together whereas Marcus did. Richard was quicker than Marcus in a lot of places.

ā€œI’d tip Richard and Marcus. But Marcus is going for a third title and it’s down to whether he has the

enthusiasm and will to do it as he did before. Iā€˜d say Richard will be the toughest guy to beat.ā€
