Loram goes under the knife

Mark Loram is out of the Australian Grand Prix after undergoing surgery in Sydney.

The Eastbourne rider has been suffering from the effects of a crash at the British Final a fortnight ago and has been losing a litre of blood every other day. The operation, to drain fluid, was a success.

Loram, currently in the top 10, is almost certain of his Grand Prix place next season.
