The start of the second round in the Madrid Open has been delayed by 90 minutes by fog.

Ryder Cup-winning captain Sam Torrance, in the first group out, was on the tee when officials ruled that conditions were not good enough to start play.

Torrance opened with a four-under-par 67 to be only three behind Lee Westwood, who after two years in the doldrums burst into the lead with a sparkling 64.
