Forest rallying season recommences in Cork
After the summer break the forestry season will recommence on Sunday September 8 with the Cork Forest Rally.
Organised by Cork Motor Club, this year's event will run in a new location and have a new COC for one of the most popular forestry rallies in the country.
John S Quill is Clerk of the Course for this year, while the stages will be in the Kilavullen & Banteer areas of Co. Cork.
The headquarters for the Event will be at the Duhallow Lodge on the main Mallow-Killarney road, with scrutiny nearby in Banteer at Eamonn Tarrent's Skoda Garage on the Saturday
evening.
After the record number of entries for last year's rally, interest in the 2002 event is expected to be just as high. Last year's winner Dominic McNeill (Escort WRC) and current leader of the KBB Doors National Forest Championship Eugene Donnelly in his ex-Nesbitt Celica will be amongst the
favourites for this year's rally.
