Baxter doesn't slip-up to 'Top Banana' Holden

Rocket Ronnie Baxter ensured there was no slip-up to 'Top Banana' Mark Holden to book a place in the second round of the PDC Stan James World Matchplay in Blackpool with a convincing 10 -1 victory.

Rocket Ronnie Baxter ensured there was no slip-up to 'Top Banana' Mark Holden to book a place in the second round of the PDC Stan James World Matchplay in Blackpool with a convincing 10 -1 victory.

The in-form Baxter, who reached the Final of the Las Vegas Desert Classic earlier this month, put in a sparkling performance to wrap up an impressive 10-1 win.

Qualifier Holden started off well winning the first leg with a 64 finish, but it seemed to sting Baxter into action and he took total control of the clash.

Baxter took the lead for the first time netting the third leg with the highest check-out of the game with a brilliant 121 finish.

The Desert Classic runner-up kept up his momentum going throughout and Holden had no answer to the Blackpool darter's heavy scoring.

Baxter rounded off the win with a neat 70 finish hitting the bulls-eye to bring the crowd in Winter Gardens to its feet.
