Keohane moves into second in British F3 Championship

Clonakilty’s Michael Keohane finished second in the first of today’s Avon Tyres British Formula 3 races at Brands Hatch. He finished behind pole sitter, Robbie Kerr with Rob Austin completing the podium celebrations.

Clonakilty’s Michael Keohane finished second in the first of today’s Avon Tyres British Formula 3 races at Brands Hatch. He finished behind pole sitter, Robbie Kerr with Rob Austin completing the podium celebrations.

Keohane netted 15 championship points and moves back to second place in the series behind James Courtney, who finished today’s race in seventh place. Adam Carroll was the top Irish driver in the Scholarship race.

The 16th round takes place later this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Dunlop National Rally Championship leaders, Niall Maguire/Paul McLaughlin (Subaru WRC) have taken a 34 lead after four stages of the Waterford based Raven’s Rock Rally.

Patrick Elliott (Subaru) is in second place with Sean Gallagher (Escort Cosworth) a further nine seconds adrift.

Robert Woodside (Subaru WRC) is currently fourth following an overshoot. Steve Fleck (Subaru) and Melvyn Evans (Escort WRC) are next on the leaderboard..

Michael Barrable, who was joint leader with David Armstrong after S.S. 1, retired with gearbox

difficulties while Armstrong has slipped outside the top ten.

Kieran Molloy leads the Group N category and James Eivers heads the Ford Ka contingent.

Retirements apart from Barrable also include Tony Davies and Jimmy Lambert .
