Paraguay have taken the lead in the 10th minute thanks to an own goal from Barcelona defender Carlos Puyol.

It was no more than the South Americans deserved following a shaky and sloppy start to the match from the Group B favourites Spain in Jeonju.

Puyol put past his own keeper Iker Casillas after the goalkeeper had punched a low cross straight at his defender.

Puyol had no chance as the ball cannoned off his legs and past Casillas.
