Keohane finishes seventh in Silverstone

Cork driver, Michael Keohane finished seventh in today’s twelfth round of the Avon Tyres British

Formula 3 Championship.

The race was won in convincing fashion by his Carlin Motorsport team mate, James Courtney.

The Australian led all the way though the race where there was very little change to the qualifying order.

One of the main movers was Keohane, the Clonakilty driver qualified tenth and moved into eighth after lap one and seventh on lap four.

In the Scholarship Class, Adam Carol stretched his advantage with yet another fine win ahead of his team mate, Robert Dahlgren.

Stephen Colbert (Dungannon), racing with the Irish registered Meritus team, was fourth and his team mate, Gavin Smith (Dublin) was sixth.

Courtney, who also set fastest lap is now well clear of his rivals, Keohane is in third place - four points behind French man, Bruce Jouanny.

Meanwhile, in the British Formula Renault Championship, also in Silverstone, Cork’s Matt Griffin (Manor Motorsport) was the top Irish performer.

He finished seventh in the 19 lap race won by Danny Watts (Fortec Motorsport).

Meath’s, Keith Dempsey was eleventh.
