Jordan - Sato's escape 'miraculous'

Eddie Jordan has told staff at the Jordan team's Silverstone headquarters that Takuma Sato has been released from hospital after yesterday's accident at the Austrian Grand Prix.

Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld spun on the approach to turn two and his car careered over the grass and smashed into the side of Sato, innocently making his way around the corner.

The Japanese driver was carefully lifted out of his stricken machine by medics and placed on a drip before being rushed away by ambulance and airlifted to hospital.

Eddie Jordan , after he described Sato's escape as "miraculous", thanked the team's staff for producing the team's first points of the 2002 season.

He said Fisichella's 5th place finish came as a direct result of recent work to tackle reliability issues and produce the new front wing developments which were raced in Zeltweg for the first time.
