A rally driver has died in an accident in Co Monaghan this afternoon in what is the second such accident in recent weeks after another driver was killed in Co Kilkenny last Sunday.

The man was taking part in the second stage of the Monaghan Rally when the accident occurred about three miles outside the village of Scottstown.
