Cricket: England's Hollioake killed in car accident

England cricketer Ben Hollioake died when he failed to negotiate a bend and hit a pylon in his car.

Hollioake's Porsche came off the road in Perth, Western Australia.

A female passenger is in a serious condition and is being treated in hospital.

Constable Raphael Perez, of the police operations centre in Perth, said: "He was driving a black Porsche and failed to negotiate a bend and hit a pylon which rolled the vehicle.

"There was a female passenger in the vehicle and she is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

"At the time there were relatives of Mr Hollioake following his vehicle. They were at the scene pretty much straight away [and] he was identified straight away.

"His family is going through the process of counselling and shock treatment.

"The accident happened at 12.30 western standard time which is about six hours ago."
