Bay Hill: Woods wilts as Mattiace turns up the heat
Tiger Woods was put under pressure by Len Mattiace in the third round of the Bay Hill Invitational and wilted in the sweltering heat.
Mattiace avoided the bogeys that plagued Woods to set the stage for an exciting final day in Orlando.
Mattiace fired a four-under-par 68 to slice the world number one's four-stroke lead to just one.
Woods appeared to be coasting to his third straight title at this Masters' warm-up but collected four bogeys on the first 10 holes en route to a two-over-par 74 that was one of the worst rounds of the day.
He dropped to 10 under on 206, one stroke better than Mattiace, who completed the lone bogey-free round of the day.
In fact, Mattiace has gone 39 holes since his last bogey, erasing the memory of an opening-round 73.
Florida specialist John Huston heads a group of five players two shots back at eight under par on 208 following a 70.
The others are Scott McCarron, New Zealand's Michael Campbell, Buy.com Tour graduate Chad Campbell and Pat Perez.
