Boxing: Naz camp running scared - Maloney

Frank Maloney insists the Prince Naseem Hamed camp are running scared of Scotland’s Scott Harrison.

Sheffield featherweight Hamed has been out of the ring since suffering his first career loss to Marco Antonio Barrera 13 months ago.

In the meantime, up-and-coming Harrison has enhanced his own reputation with some impressive displays.

He has got his sights on Hamed, but his backers insist that the Englishman is running scared.

Maloney said: ‘‘They put out a story that they offered me a million pounds for Scott to fight Hamed, but they have never picked up the phone.

‘‘Hamed has his own agenda, which is to fight the easiest fight that is out there and to con the public.

‘‘We are not on the Hamed agenda so they can go their own way. Our business is Scott Harrison.

‘‘If that fight can be made then it will be made when it suits us and not them.’’
