Motorsport: West International to take place in Nov

The first running of the West International Rally will take place on November 2nd/3rd 2001.

The event, which was to have been the final round of the 2001 Toshiba Computers Tarmac Rally Championship, will cater for the usual Homologated and modified classes.

In addition, it will feature Historics and a round of the Ford of Ireland Ka championship.

The rally will receive full TV coverage on the popular "RPM" motorsport programme.

Dennis Murphy (Clerk of the Course) has laid out 10 Classic stages, (over 90 stage miles) through south County Galway and north County Clare to take place on Saturday 3rd November with the event finishing on that evening.

Regulations will be posted on Monday 24th September to all 2000 Tarmac Rally Championship registered contenders and all entrants in the 2000 Galway Spring Rally.

The entry fee is £299. Applications for Regulations to be sent to Ms Eleanor O'Boyle, "Dunkellin House", Weir Road, Kilcolgan, Co. Galway.
