Olympics: Irish athletics gear row resurfaces

The row over Irish athlete’s equipment has arisen again and it is once again threatening to affect athlete’s potential.

The Olympic Council of Ireland has announced that it is prepared to set aside funds to send a team of 20 juvenile track and field athletes to the European youth Olympics next month.

The row between the two sporting bodies has erupted on several occasions before, most recently during the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
