Formulan One: Frentzen forced out of Canadian Grand Prix

The second practice session for this weekend’s Formula 1 Grand Prix in Canada finished with the McLarens of Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard in first and second place and Michael Schumacher well down the field.

The McLaren pair dominated the session, which saw the Drivers Championship leader, Michael Schumacher finishing in a disappointing eleventh place.

Eddie Irvine proved that his third place finish at Monaco was not a once off when he posted the third fastest time, Rubens Barrichello was fourth fastest and Juan Pablo Montoya was one further back in fifth while his Williams teammate, Ralf Schumacher was sixth.

The Jordan driver, Heinz-Harald Frentzen has been forced to pull out of the race when after he crashed in practice.

His place will be taken in the race by the Jordan test driver, Ricardo Zonta.
