Boxing: I'll get the title back - Hamed

Naseem Hamed vowed "I'll be back" after losing the IBO world featherweight title to Marco Antonio Barrera on a unanimous points decision.

The Prince was never able to land a telling blow as the Mexican changed his tactics and frustrated the Briton.

But Hamed also revealed that he had a re-match clause in the fight contract and will be looking to fight the Mexican again by the end of the year.

Hamed said: "Great fighters get beat and come back and win - and I'll be back.

"It was a great fight. I planned a knock-out but it didn't come off. I didn't hit him as well as I wanted to.

"He wouldn't charge in because he knew I would knock him out. That's just the way it goes.

"I'll come back and beat him, I've got a re-match clause in my contract and I'll get the title back.

"I accept the loss and I'm going out like a real champion but I will return."

Barrera admitted that he had changed his tactics to confuse Hamed and was delighted that it had paid off.

The Mexican said: "I changed my style to upset him and worked on it in the gym. We tricked him.

"The main thing is that he does not hit as hard as everyone says he does. I was never hurt in the fight."
