Irish Masters: Ebdon/Higgins match report

Peter Ebdon provided further evidence of his return to form by moving into

the semi-finals of the Citywest Irish Masters with a 6-3 win over the

defending champion John Higgins.

Ebdon, winner of the British Open earlier this season, coasted into a 3-0

lead with early breaks of 63, 68 and 90.

Higgins won three of the next four to close to 4-3, but Ebdon crucially won

a scrappy eighth, and completed his victory with a run of 83 in the next.
