Racing: Dettori looks forward to new season
Frankie Dettori believes he has only an outside chance of regaining the jockey's championship he won in 1994 and 1995.
He rode only 46 winners last season having spent two months on the sidelines after being injured in a plane crash at Newmarket on June 1.
He returns to action in Britain on Wednesday with three rides at Lingfield Park.
Dettori has not ridden in this country since landing a double on Compton Bolter and Mellow Jazz at the Surrey track in November.
He has been booked to ride Westbound Road in the Res Maiden Stakes, Tapage in the Europa Quality Print Handicap and Prince Nico in the Mobile Phone House Handicap.
"The likelihood of me becoming champion is a 100-1," he told the Racing Channel.
"I'm not going to fly again in the little planes so I'll probably just stick to one meeting a day in the summer.
"But obviously I've got a lot to look forward to with Godolphin, David Loder is back and John Gosden has booked me in the past.
"I've got some nice horses to look forward to - some very nice two-year-olds.
"Godolphin are very powerful and it is very exciting to be starting a new season."
Westbound Road will be Loder's first runner since his return from France.
The trainer has spent the last two seasons training for Godolphin at Evry where he had only moderate success.
He has now returned to the stables in Newmarket vacated when Gosden moved to Manton.
Dettori is looking forward to renewing his association with Crystal Music, on whom he won the Meon Valley Stud Fillies' Mile for Gosden at Ascot in September.
He went on: "I was very impressed with her last year. She's a wonderful filly and with any luck I'll be reunited with her."
Dewhurst Stakes winner Tobougg is now with Godolphin and Dettori added: "He has done really well and all the signs are good.
"I have some nice prospects for the season."
