Football: Redknapp signs Bulgarian striker
West Ham have signed Bulgarian striker Svetoslav Todorov for £500,000.
The 22-year-old international has really impressed Iron boss Harry Redknapp in a 10-day trial.
And Redknapp reckons he has landed something of a bargain in Todorov who he believes will soon be worth four or five times that amount.
"The lad has played in Bulgaria's last 20 internationals and has a big future, hopefully for us," Redknapp told the Racing Post.
"It's a gamble that can't fail as I'm forking out £500,000 on a 22-year-old striker who is going to be worth between £2-3million, maybe more, after a few games for us.
"We have had him on trial for the past 10 days and he has impressed me enormously with his touch and his pace and he scored a couple of goals for us in a friendly against Bournemouth.
"We have just signed Rigobert Song and Christian Dailly, and the shape of our squad is taking place nicely."
