Chadwick eyes regular Man United spot

Luke Chadwick aims to claim regular place alongside David Beckham in Manchester United's midfield.

The youngster scored his first goal for United in the 3-0 away win over Bradford last Saturday.

And Chadwick is determined to learn all he can from his spell in the first team.

"Playing with such world-class players you can learn so much," said 20-year-old winger Chadwick.

"I just watch everything they do and try and pick things up.

"I want to cross the ball as well as David. That's the ultimate thing to do, isn't it? But I've just got to keep practising. I'd love to help him move into the middle if I had the chance!"

The Cambridge-born youngster had a spell at Arsenal before moving to Old Trafford and spent last season in Belgium where he gained invaluable experience in helping Royal Antwerp to win the Second Division championship.

Chadwick has put in some eye-catching displays on the flank but revealed he started off his career as an out-and-out forward.

"In my year there were five or six centre-forwards, so I didn't get much of a chance at United until they started playing me out wide," he told the new issue of Manchester United magazine.

"I preferred it there too. You can't really lose when you're a wide man at this club because you're crossing to such great forwards."
