The story of the Irish Examiner Cork City Marathon 2017 in video
Preparations began bright and early, as volunteers shined medals and filed away the paperwork, runners took the time to get in those last minute stretches.
And they're off.
Crowds gathered to support the participants along the way, from the Lough to Farranlea.
Meanwhile, the half marathon kicked off on Monaghan Road.
Although local runner, Alan O'Shea led the race for over 20 miles, it was San Francisco native Chris Mocko that was first to cross the finish line, with a time of 2.26.42.
Jill Hodgins, from Douglas, was the first woman to cross the line.
Massive well done to everyone involved.
