Battling Peter Nagle powers to Munster crown in thriller
That final brought the curtain down on a packed weekend in which five provincial titles were decided. Gavin Twohig won the Munster intermediate final and Colm Rafferty the Ulster one. Geraldine Daly won her third Munster senior crown with a brilliant display and Maria Nagle was equally impressive in winning the u18 final.
In the Junior A final the lead changed hands at virtually every tip for the first half. Peter just edged the opening shots. James put a great second bowl onto the white line and it wound to the bungalow. Peter’s was right and missed it by 20m, but he cut the odds to a metre with a good third into the wind.
