A five runner race due to the absence of the injured Joyful Dribbler from trap six, those who supported her at 4/6 never had a moments worry as she came away in front from her rails draw going two lengths clear as they ran to the third bend.

Extending this to four as they ran the back straight there was slight cause for concern when they came into the home straight as another fine stayer Ballymac Bonnie came flying through from fourth place to take up the chase but staying is Traditions strong point and she crossed the line with two to spare over Bonnie with Beaming Coyote another three and a half away in third in a fine 41.29 (.20 fast).

Patrons saw an excellent performance in the second semi final of an A4 stake from the August 14 whelp Kranky Damo who, on just his second career start, recorded the best time of the night an excellent 28.29 (.10 fast).

Not that smart from his trap three berth he raced on the outside of three into the opening bend where he gained the upper hand and then in a fine display of back straight pace the John Kenny and Don Kelleher, Cork owned 1/2 chance pulled clear to score unchallenged by ten lengths from Marazion Cheetah.

The first semi final went to the Philip Rodes, Ballymacoda owned Global Chart who led from pillar to post where he had a length to spare over the fast finishing Ridgedale Benjy in 28.92.

Two semi finals of the Denis Linehan & Co Solicitors A2 525 Stake were won in exactly the same time, 28.48, the first going to the Joan Hanrahan, Glanworth owned Boherash Messiah who led throughout crossing the line with three lengths to spare over Carrowkeal Bart while the second went to the Owen McKenna trained Create A Star who after shipping a bump at the opening bend ran on in fine style to cross the line with four and a half lengths to spare over El Vic.

Father and son combination Diarmuid and Kieran Lynch, Belgooly took the last, an A1, with Reagrove Ellie who got the better of Ballycannon Hero before the opening bend but after being three clear along the back she had just three parts of a length to spare at the line over the fast finishing Touchdown Jacko in 28.46.

Society Georgy bought by Miss Ashley Corkery, Grenagh at the last sales for small money recouped most of the outlay when he never put a foot wrong to take the opener by a length from Razldazl Rubie in 28.90.

Belindas Blue owned by John O Brien, Cloyne outpaced his rivals on the run to the first bend in the second, an S0/1,and the 4/1 chance then pulled a length and a half clear to the line from the favourite Rockforest Pedro who took second by a half a length from Inishkenny Ash in 17.69.
