Waterford v Limerick

i) Waterford, in six League matches, have managed just one goal – Tom Devine scored against Tipp in their regular-season clash.

For perspective on how concerning that should be to them, Limerick, albeit in a far less competitive 1B, registered 11, Kilkenny nailed 10 and Clare pilfered eight, again, generally, in 1B.

Derek McGrath has played this ‘issue’ down. However, can Waterford really overcome this hurdle and further hurdles without addressing this problem?

ii) Has Waterford’s gameplan progressed from last year, because the lack of goals issue suggests possibly not?

iii) Limerick displayed a lot of resilience while toppling Dublin at ‘fortress’ Parnell Park.

They beat Ger Cunningham’s side 1-21 to 1-19 but it could be argued that scoreline somewhat flattered Dublin.

In total, Limerick, including two of their subs, had 10 different scorers in that League quarter-final. Limerick have scoring threats from many sectors of the field.

Yet, Waterford are expected to progress.

Are Limerick being slightly underestimated ahead of this particular tie?

iv) Who will win? Which player could be key?
