Venue change has handed advantage to Billy Joe Saunders, admits Andy Lee

Andy Lee admits the cancellation of his dream homecoming world title defence has boosted Billy Joe Saunders’ chance of victory, after the fight was rearranged to take place in Manchester.

Lee has forged a reputation as a road warrior, having fought all over the world throughout his career and won the WBO world title in Las Vegas last December.

He had his heart set on finally defending the belt in his home town of Limerick and the stage was set for Thomond Park on September 19, with undefeated Saunders his mandatory opponent.
