VIDEO: Rob Heffernan to use Cork City Sports as stepping stone to Beijing

The next few weeks are vital for Rob Heffernan’s season, as he bids to forget recent surgeries and prepare to defend his world championship title in the 50km Walk.

That date will arrive on August 26 in Beijing, but first Heffernan will measure his current fitness and form at Cork City Sports next Tuesday evening, before departing for a four-week training camp in Morocco the following day.

“There were complications after the surgery so the training camp in Morocco is going to be very important,” said the 2013 gold medallist, who most recently went under the knife for a hernia at the end of April.
