Spin costly as Meeke/Nagle seventh in Sweden

Motorsport: A spin midway through the final stage of Rally Sweden, the second round of the World Rally Championship denied the Irish pair of Kris Meeke/Paul Nagle (Citroen DS3 WRC) the opportunity of finishing sixth.

On the penultimate leg Meeke/Nagle moved inside the top ten with a string of solid times including a fastest stage time.

Yesterday, they were battling with Welsh ace Elfyn Evans (Ford Fiesta WRC) and began the final stage just 1.4 seconds behind. However, they spun and had to be content with seventh. Meanwhile, their team mate Mads Ostberg was in line to finish fourth until he hit a snow bank and lost over five minutes before eventually finishing tenth.
