Incredibly DCU had 65 points (170-105) to spare over two legs and coach Mark Ingle was thrilled with his charges. Facing champions Team Montenotte in the semi will be a huge challenge.”
WIT Wildcats defeated UL Huskies 59-57 but lost out 126-120 over two legs with Kelsey Harris contributing an impressive 16 points for the Shannonsiders.
Killester and Liffey Celtics were tied after their first leg at Leixlip but the Clontarf side made home advantage count when running out 82-65 winners.
American Olivia Lee had a season best 25 points as the Dublin side booked a date with UL Huskies for a place in the decider.
In Cork, St Anthony’s qualified for the Women’s U18 semi-final for the first time when defeating Templeogue 61-52.
Trailing 31-23 at the break St Anthony’s had to dig deep in the second-half with impressive contributions from Kelly Diggin (22) and Kate Leneghan (20) proving crucial.
Another Cork side were stunned into submission as Fr Mathew’s — despite commanding a 14 point lead — were pipped at the post 60-59 by East Cavan Eagles.
