Ó Horgáin puts on blistering run at Cork IT

Exceptional 800m running proved the highlight of the first day’s South Munster Schools’ Track & Field which took place in sunny conditions at Cork IT track.

After failing by just 100th of a second to break the two-minute barrier last season, Lucás Ó Horgáin of Coláiste Chríost Rí finally did it in style when winning the intermediate race in 1:59.11.

Going through the first lap in 56 seconds, O’Horgáin held off Conor O’Driscoll (Carrigaline CS) and Matt Murnane (CBC) to achieve his goal.
