Team Sky storm to Giro success
The 17.4 kilometre team time-trial played perfectly to the strengths of the British team and they blitzed the course in a time of 22 minutes five seconds.
And the time gained on their closest challengers was enough to put young Italian Salvatore Puccio into the pink jersey. Bradley Wiggins is second overall, in the same time, and has gained significant seconds on his overall rivals.
Meanwhile, Aquablue’s Joe Fenlon wears the yellow jersey going into today’s final stage of the Tour of Ulster after he claimed yesterday’s third stage while in Munster, Blarney’s Kieran Crean holds a one second advantage over Stephen Murray (Dungarvan) ahead of today’s final stage of the Corkman 3-Day in Kanturk.
