O’Connor wins Doneraile 5k

There was a Leevale one-two at the third event in the Doneraile Park 5km Series with Sinead O’Connor, in her first distance race of the year, coming home first in a time of 18:14, 51 seconds clear of Carol Finn.

Gráinne O’Callaghan from Riocht took third in 19:05 with Loretto Duggan from Clare finishing fourth.

Tom Blackburn of Moore Abbey Milers was the men’s winner in 17:25 with Patrick Clifford from Killorglin second in 17:29 and Fermoy-man Kealan O’Connor – better known as a cyclist – having one of his best runs to take third in 17:36.

This evening, the second annual Drimoleague Féile Beag 5km takes place, commencing at 6pm.

Entries will be taken from 5pm at the local GAA grounds and the fee is €10. Drimoleague GAA pitch is situated in the centre of the village just off the main street and is well sign-posted.
