Jason Smyth lived up to his billing as the star man of the track at the London Paralympics as he smashed his T13 100m world record last night.

Smyth won easing up in a new world best time of 10.54 secs in the heats last night.

Smyth has run quicker before (10.22secs) but that was in an able-bodied race and Paralympic records can only be set in Paralympic events.
