Fury faces Rogan in Belfast

Whether the vacant Irish title will be up for grabs when Martin Rogan and Tyson Fury clash at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast tonight appears to be contingent on whether Rogan signs up for a 12-rounder.

If Belfast-born Rogan doesn’t agree to 12 rounds with Fury, who has signed up to go a dozen frames, then the Irish belt will be taken off the table and they will clash in an international fight.

The clash goes ahead following a week of wrangling between the Boxing Union of Ireland (BUI) and the British Boxing Board of Control about judges and referees and whether the fight will be a 10 or 12-rounder.
