FORMER Penn State coach Joe Paterno admitted he wished he did more after hearing accusations former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky had been caught acting inappropriately with a young boy in 2002.

Paterno coached Penn State for 46 years and became one of the game’s legends but was fired last November, after Sandusky’s arrest on child sexual abuse charges.

In his first interview since being fired Paterno said he didn’t feel “adequate” enough to deal with the charge: “I never heard of, of, rape and a man. So I just did what I thought was best.
