Curraheen punters should follow the Star
It would be fair to say that the draw favours Curryhills Hawki, but he must find his best break to take advantage of it against a rival that has returned from a break in the form of his life.
Trained by J J Fennelly and Sheila Spillane, Burgess Star has recorded two mightily impressive performances in the previous rounds of this competition and I believe he has the pace to make the bend in front of Curryhills Hawki.
If he leads he ought to win and as that’s something I believe he should be able to and therefore he is awarded the nap selection to stave off the attention of Curryhills Hawki.
Ballyhoe Symbol looks to have a winning opportunity in the closing race.
John Kiely’s dog has been eased in grade since finishing behind Castleland Daz last month. He probably lacks a small bit of early pace over this trip, but he’s still capable of turning close in this company and, that being the case, he should have a real say in the finish.
The danger is likely to come from Downdaniel Amy, who has some terrific form here of late and looks ideally drawn on the rails.
Race On Angel has shown the sort of pace that should see her into the winner’s enclosure soon and as she drops to A4 for the sixth race, she’s selected to make her breakthrough.
Lorraine Moore’s bitch is a half sister to Saturday night’s Kingdom Derby winner, Pablo Supreme, and she began life in the top class Jerry Hennerty Memorial Unraced Stake here at Curraheen Park. She ran well without threatening to win on either occasion, but this is significantly easier.
